I have come here for years, brought a lot of business in over the years for varying services (waxing, manicures, pedicures, now 1 full set of nails) for myself, my mother in law, my steptdaughters bio mom, my step daughter was 4 when we first began bringing her here for mani pedi's always get gel polish and full services, she is 12 now, she's done bday party services for years in a row now too with myself, her, and 3 to 5 friends depending on the year. So we don't come in every single week but our family does come in many times a year, if not myself my daughter or mother in law. My husband also buys gift cards yearly for a few of us. There has been the odd time the gel polish job isn't great it has come off on my daughter or a friend of hers right away, but over all more times than not we are very satisfied (hence why we have still come back)...however I am BEYOND unimpressed, actually quite livid with my recent service! I called in on January 23rd to make sure they had room for myself and daughter, as walking in can be hectic sometimes, but it was a last min surprise from my hubby he was sending us for some treatments. Daughter wanted a gel polish pedi, I wanted a FULL GEL NAIL SET as my birthday was the day before on the 22nd. I have ALWAYS gone with sculpted gel nails as I KNOW those last, are comfortable, and look great (I actually do have a regular lady I go to outside of Andola but she books far in advance, this was a last min surprise) I repeated many times on the phone (over 3 times) GEL NAIL SET and I specified "NOT acrylic I DON'T like acrylic or glue on" (if I wanted glue on nails, I would just go to London drugs buy a set and do it myself, secondly I wouldn't spend $80) they said ok see you soon, before getting off phone I confirmed price, they said $85 (which I already knew WAS the price for "gel nail SET" as I was holding the flyer with all their services in my hand, I was just making sure they put my appointment in correctly. I had my year and a half old son with me, they were SO sweet to him accommodating, went above and beyond to make sure he was safe and comfortable in his carset beside me so he wouldn't fall and so he was happy etc, they were wonderful towards him too I did appreciate that greatly! So we begin my nails, I AGAIN CONFIRMED yes gel nail set. I pick my colours. I start getting snacks for my son to keep him calm, trusting since I have said gel nail set so many times they know by now what they are doing...next thing I know I look over and the lady is gluing a fake nail to my nail (after shaping my natural nail etc) I was put back for a second but she was already onto my second nail, I was shocked and also dealing with my son but I went along with it despite feeling this was totally wrong and uncomfortable with it (Ive never had acrylic sets done in a shop so I didnt realize that ultimately was what was put on me until EVERYONE seeing me since has said, INCLUDING my actual nail girl) End result esthetically was stunning, and I was charged $80 NOT $85 so even there I knew I had been given the wrong service. I was annoyed with that right off the bat but my daughter was happy with her service, I liked the LOOK of mine, they were so great about my son so I brushed it off. After 20% tip (stupidly I did give, out of habit going there so much) it was a little under $200, was around $178 range. Being that it was my Birthday week and I just had my nails done, I HADN'T been doing anything crazy, no lifting or hard cleaning, NO DISHES at all, not banging my hands around, no excuse under the sun AT ALL for ANYTHING to be wrong with my nails...by my family reunion held on Saturday (January 25th) I had 2 nails lifting on my left hand already! I have had my natural nails FAR SHORTER, have done the cheapo glue on nails from London drugs, and had them last FAR longer, whilst being far more physical! I used to do that all the time I only in the last year have gotten into going to someone to get my nails done! When I go to my proper nail lady outside of andola, and have ACTUAL gel nail sets done (which I've had many now) the time they didn't last long I had extremely short nails, I had been in Port Renfrew fishing for a week, and those lasted me 8 days before they started coming off, and with her it is $80 for proper sculpted built up gel nails. These andola glue on's just had gel nail polish cured on top, and they didn't even last me 2 full days before they started lifting! By Monday night (January 27th) 1 of the nails had come off completely, 3 others were lifting/ not fully attached. As of this morning it is a week to the day since my appointment, 3 nails are off 2 more lifting. Terrible job, never again! My daughter can keep going for gel polish pedi's but this experience has put a damper on me ever wanting anything done here on myself ever again. Which is so disappointing because they are so wonderful and great with my kids (the only reason I can’t give them a 1 star). Extremely expensive lesson learnt. I'm undecided yet if I'm going to bother going and buying nail glue to re attach or if I'm going to let them all fall off (which apparently won't take long) and just book in with my lady next month for what I actually wanted.
