From Deanna: My son has a severe allergy to tree nuts (walnuts, almonds, etc.) but not peanuts. He is beginning TK this year, and the school has asked that we put together an earthquake kit for our child. In it, they suggest granola bars as a snack since they are individually wrapped and will last for a while (shelf life) and give the child nutrition should an emergency occur. Does anyone know of a granola bar or similar snack that is safe? We typically do not buy them since many of them contain nuts.

My 12 yo son who has severe allergies to peanut dairy and egg was recently diagnosed with pork beef and soy allergies. He is an athletic kid and we can see the new diet is affecting him. Does anyone know of safe protein bars or shakes we can get for him?

Does anyone have suggestions for an alternative to Cliff bars and granola bars? My son is allergic to tree nuts and soy and severely allergic to peanuts & he really wants to have easy items for breakfast like his sister.
